Remote Learning
Remote Learning
We are committed to our pupils’ learning during any period of unavoidable school closure. Each week, during term time, we will provide our children with focused activities linked to the National Curriculum for each year group.
All Remote Learning will be accessible through Google Classroom
The school’s Headteacher, Mrs Kathryn Wilson, is the Remote Learning Lead. She is contactable either by phone or at [email protected] Parents will usually find that their child’s class teacher is able to resolve any issues concerned with access to the teaching programme, or pupil outcomes, but please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs Wilson if the problem persists. She will be happy to help.
Mental Health and Well-being (Education Endowment Foundation)One of the most important ways to keep mentally healthy is to have routine and structure, and to maintain a healthy sleep pattern. The Education Endowment Foundation (EFF) have produced a series of checklists to help parents and children manage their routines. |
BBC Bitesize Daily
The BBC have worked with education experts to make sure everyone who needs it can access learning resources during this uncertain time. You can also expect some of it to be delivered by well-known faces.
The Bitesize website will also expand to offer additional help for students and parents. New Maths and English lessons will be available every day for all ages. These will be created with resources from Bitesize, other parts of the BBC and other education providers. The content of these lessons will be backed up by new videos, practice tests, educational games and articles. Regular lessons on other core subjects, including science, will also be available.
Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
This initial list of SEND resources (suggested by the Department for Education for parents to use for home learning during the Covid-19 period) has been developed with a focus on accessibility and inclusivity and is based on the recommendations of:
- trusted organisations
- charities
- multi-academy trusts
- special education headteachers
We encourage parents, teachers and schools to explore beyond this list to identify what support is best for their children and pupils with SEND.
